Nothing to do with Malia...

We had so much fun at disneyland. We took over 100 pictures of malia, but thats not what gets posted here this time...

1. At what age do you outgrow a stroller? I was under the impression it was around 4, not 40. But, I guess, whatever works... I'd hate to be the one that has to push that thing around.

2. Waiting to get in the park. I hope this guys doesn't read blogs. I'm sure his wife and kids would be so proud to know this was out in the world.

The moment I've been waiting for. There really is someone in there! Up until now it was just grunting and crying and pooping and sleeping, but now... My heart just melted when I realized it was a REAL smile and she did more than once. I'm such a proud mama.

Colic...ICK

She's been crying all day. Poor little thing. I've resorted to carrying her around all day in her sling, its the only thing that has kept her quiet. I feel so bad that I can't comfort her.

I guess if we knew what we were in for we'd never reproduce.

Kinda like the pain of contractions. I told Brian in the hospital room that if I remembered how painful the contractions were once she was born that he was only getting one kid. Lucky for him I forgot.

Adventures of Superchunk...

and her faithful sidekicks- Mom & Dad!

Its been a busy week. We've had doctors appointments, a trip to the pumpkin fest and some outings to the mall and toy store (cuz sidekick mom can't help but spend money on her beautiful girl).

Malia is my little Superchunk...in 3 weeks she gained 2 lbs and grew 2 inches. But, boy oh boy, is she striving to be average. My little girl is bound to be that kid we all thought never existed, the one kid in the 50th percentile.

She had a doctors appointment yesterday and guess what? Yup, she's 50th percentile for her height, weight and head circumference. When I was pregnant every test I took came out right in the middle of the normal range. And every time we listened to her heartbeat in utero it was 140. Want to take a guess what normal range is? 120-160.

Lets just hope thats not where her SAT's land...

Highly Entertaining

We spent the day at the Cal Poly Pomona Pumpkin Festival toady. Malia was alldressed up in her pumpkin outfit and got so many oohs and aahhs from everyone else. It was a perfect opportunity for a photo shoot and she was cooperating. Well, at least she was asleep and not fussing and crying in the pictures. I think she looks cute. If you agree, leave a comment. If you don't, keep it to yourself, I like my world the way it is and I don't need you to drag me out of it...

But beside taking cute pictures of my daughter, I also wanted to share some of the other interesting parts of my day...

This goat was great. Not only was he very cute, at one point he walked over and nibbled on a kids butt. If it were my kid I'd be horrified but since it was someone elses kid (and the kids wasn't hurt) I thought it was pretty damn funny.

And then some people are just way to serious about thier pumpkins. This guy spent the better part of 15 minutes making sure his pumpkins were securely strapped to the wagon. Who needs 8 pumpkins anyway? My friend Amy and I found it all very humorous and had to stop and take pictures.

Beautiful Girl

I fall in love with Malia more everyday. She is beautiful. I'm still floored by the fact that I am totally captivated by something that does so little.

I can't wait for the real smiles and the giggles and the holding her head up and eveything else that comes with the whole package!

Strange Bedfellows

Does anyone else find this a little strange?
I was flipping channels and ended up at USA network's showing of The Scorpion King. The movie went to commercial and the first thing that came on was the movie's sponser...

"This USA movie is brought to you by Barney & Friends Live...."

Hmmm...and Barney is the one preaching about love? At least the movie is as bad as the purple dinosaur's show. I guess they have something in common.

It Figures

Malia gets fussy. Most babies do. And will she take one of the pacifiers we got for her?

Nope, she wants the free on that they give you in the hospital.

Even better is that we only have one and I can't find them in any store so we have to order from the internet. At least I don't mind online shopping and it does insure that I get something in the mail besides bills.

See, there's a bright side to everything!

A New Meaning to the Word...

Tired.

Oh my god I can't believe how little sleep I've hadin the past 3 weeks and I'm still sane. There are nights that I am lucky to get 3 hours total (mostly in 1/2 hour increments).

Don't get me wrong, I really am having the time of my life. I spend all day watching her do absolutly nothing and am totally captivated.

I knew there would be less sleep. I was warned. Pregnancy even tried to train me a little with the 8 trips to the bathroom every night for the last 2 months. But this is above and beyond anything I thought possible.

She gets more beautiful every day. I still look at her and can't believe that she is mine. I never knew I could love anything as much as I love her and so unconditionaly as well. It makes the lack of sleep bearable and borderline worthwhile.

And now, since she just fell asleep I'm going to catch a few zzz's of my own!
