so these are a bit late but I finally played with them and I really enjoyed how much fun she had with her cake. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...
who don't think before they speak...or just don't care.
Comment #1 Setting: the aquarium sea lion tank Dumb comment: "We saw some real ones(sea lions) down at the beach yesterday" Commentary: ok so thay were probably from some landlocked state and had never seen the ocean before but c'mon. Either that or I have been completely fooled by the state of the art animatronic sea lions and the joke is really on me.
Comment #2 Setting: david's bridal Dumb (well more obnoxious and snotty) comment: "Its not just fabric (insert snotty tone notched up a bit), its organza" Commnetary: I don't care if it were handspun by leprechauns from unicorn hair-there is no way I can justify less that 1/2 yard of fabric, sorry-organza, attached to a haircomb could ever being worth $195. As far as being more than snotty-reality check for you-you work in david's bridal selling gowns for $99. When you sell your first Vera Wang you have earned the right to be snotty...
So I may finally have a few of the small breaks I've been looking for.
1. I haven't done much with Digital Scraps lately but in the past 4 days I've had 3 referrals (exactly what I needed) call for cards and announcements! How cool is that.
2. I did a mini shoot with some of teh people at Brian's work and she has referred me to her son's daycare. I've had one call so far and I think I may have a portrait party hostess. Yay! 3. My sister is a vet tech in the nice part of town and the vet she works with has ok'd a display to go up in his clinic! I love photographing animals, sure they run away but they can't say no :). Here's the display flyer thats going up:
Malia's commercial shoot was fun. We got the call friday night for a 9:30 am shoot. Talk about last minute. I scramble to switch plans and free up saturday so we can go play. There is no way I could work and do this. We get there on time and hang out and wait for them to need her in the shots. She did great! She smiled and shined and made eveyone oooh and ahhh over her. I was so proud.
She could only work 4 hours (yay for california labor laws) and when her time was ending they decided that Brian fit the look they were going for and made him the grill-meister for the shoot. It was a little odd to watch these actors pretending to have a bbq and grill hot dogs and eat and act like a family since they had never met before saturday.
Malia has her first modeling job tomorrow! I'm excited. Really all she will know is hanging out in front of the camera-but she's a pro at that. Did I mention that I'm excited? It is nice to know that she is earning her own little college fund.
OK, so I revamped my photography site and I'm pretty happy with the result. I was very happy to finally get the simpleviewer up and running. It makes the galleries so much easier and no one can right click and steal any of the photos. Let me know if you like it.
If you don't, well, you can keep that opinion to yourself since its done now and I'm not changing it for a while. Not that I can't take constructive critisim, I'm just not asking for it.
Malia and I joinded a local play group. Yesterday was the ice cream social and while she didn't get to partake in the yummy goodies (a few more weeks until dairy is ok'd) she did get to play with the other kidlings! And the favorite toy of the day was ice. yes, ice. it must have felt good on the little toes because they all loved it! Malia was a complete mess when we headed home. Mostly because melted ice and dirt make a wonderful new play substance.
She also showed off her ability to stuff crackers a handful at a time into her cute little mouth. I think she even showed the little girl next to her how to do the same. Oh, I'm a proud mama!

Some one recently decided that this was a good choice of words to describe me to them. Now I see two possible alternatives 1) they had no idea what the word meant and used it trying to be funny. Which considering how I feel about them wasn't very humorous. Or 2) they knew exactly what it meant and used it anyway hoping they could pull off the "i didn't know it meant that" excuse.
Either way, look at me laugh, i'm going to do it, really I am, just watch...
ha ha ha
nope I take it back, it was just sarcasm. I guess I don't find it funny after all.
